'Meh...' Sites

Meh...

These websites have earned the status of "Meh..." by either having success for very little users, have become increasingly difficult to use, have received a pretty significant amount of complaints from users, or are just questionable in general.

Anything that sounds like Neobux, Bux, or something like that:

Basically, this website has a $10 minimum payout, and you click ads for ~$0.01 for every ad you click. You have to stay at the ad for like 30 seconds to get your penny. Not worth it, but that's just my opinion.

This website was originally in the "DANGER" section, but this website actually works for some people. Of course, to make ANY decent amount of money one would need to have a hellton of referrals.

The good thing about this website is that for every ad your referrals click on you get $0.01 as well, so if you, and 200 hard working referrals all clicking 10 ads a day (which is the maximum on a lot of these), you could effectively get $2.10 a day! Whoa! You could like... Buy a few bags of chips ._.

All mockery put aside, we all know that getting 200 hard working referrals is a miracle. Getting 200 lazy referrals is amazing in itself. $2.10 a day actually is pretty good, considering the amount of work put into it. That's ~$60 every month, and ~$720 every year!

Now before you go sign up for this Bux website, keep this in mind: If the only way to make good money is to recruit hundreds of referrals, won't your referrals eventually figure this out? You must be Santa Clause if you've got 200 referrals mindlessly clicking 10 ads a day, every day, for a year o.o

So yeah. It can work, and it's not QUITE a scam, but it's so difficult that it's definitely not worthy of "Pretty Darn Legit". . .

Lockerz
Okay. First thing's first, I don't have a link to Lockerz because as of now, it's invite only. Would I invite you? Yeah... Sure... but there are other people out there who would get on their hands and knees to invite you. I barely even use Lockerz anymore and I'll tell you why:

First, Lockerz runs on a point system. Every day you go onto your Lockerz account and click this thing on the bottom of the screen. You get 2 PTZ. You answer some random daily question, and you get another 2 PTZ. Yay.

Lockerz is similar to Swagbucks in the sense that the best way to get PTZ is to be patient, however Lockerz recently added a few new features for those point hungry people. These features include a system where you watch a small video with an advertisement before it, and you get (constantly changing amount, usually 2-6)  PTZ per Video+Advertisement combo you watch. This system is called PLAY.

Of course, there is the SHOP feature where you buy stuff, and get some PTZ. Conforming with most other websites that have a similar feature, it's generally not that much you're getting back, but may be something worth considering. The interesting thing is you can get cool little discounts by spending PTZ. For instance, an item that would normally cost $60.00 in the SHOP would cost $55.00 if you sacrificed 200 PTZ. (Not exact conversion rate, but it's pretty similar.)

The kicker: If you invite 20 people to Lockerz, you become a Z-Lister. When you become a Z-Lister, you get a T-Shirt. It's basically just a gray T-shirt with "Lockerz" printed in big font and the Lockerz logo. But that's not all: Everything you do when you're a Z-Lister gets DOUBLED.

You log in and click the thing on the bottom of the screen, 4 PTZ. Daily question, 4 PTZ, watch a Video+Ad combo, (constantly changing, but as of now, 4-12) PTZ. Get the drift? Z-Listers also get to be the first ones to try out new things that come out.

What do you do with these PTZ? Exchange them for prizes. Pretty much the same type of stuff Swagbucks has: Game systems, apparel, misc. Things...

The difference being that you can only redeem these items once a month during a time called Redemption. They are coming out with a new feature so you can redeem items whenever you want, but rumor has it they are making everything 4x more expensive.

Every once in a while they will have fun events where you buy a chance to be able to redeem something, for PTZ. For instance, they will say "Give us 300 PTZ and you can have a chance to be in the special redemption! 600 PTZ will win you an even better chance, and 1000 PTZ will give you a pretty good chance! :D"

Sound exciting or what?

But wait... If it seems this good, why does it have the status of "Meh..." ?

Okay. Right off the bat, most people could tell that this website goes for that "Playful, fun, community" type of website, probably why it's so popular. (~3 million searches on google for "Lockerz" every month!) The website is designed great, and it looks spunky, but dig a little deeper and the Trojan Horse begins to open...

First, out of personal experience, I know many many people personally who are an active member of Lockerz. Maybe 15 serious members and 30 casual members. None of these 45 people have ever successfully redeemed anything from Lockerz, except for the Z-Lister T-shirt. The T-shirt doesn't even look that great, so I consider it advertising, not a prize.

Remember what I said about that once a month redemption? They never give you an explicit time for it either, so you'll be stuck there hitting the refresh button every 3 minutes if you want a chance. Multiple times during the redemption the website has either crashed, or been "attacked by bots and hackers" so something, on occasion will go wrong.

I literally have friends that have thousands of points, but miss every redemption. Their excuse every time is "I'm saving up for something better..." and while it may seem logical at first, all of your PTZ expire in a year.

This basically means that if you earned 30 PTZ in March 2009, 100 PTZ in April 2009, and 500 PTZ in May 2009, you would lose 30 PTZ on March 2010, 100 PTZ on April 2010, and 500 PTZ on May 2010, assuming you didn't spend them. It's in the terms and conditions, and they also state that they will not warn you of upcoming PTZ expirations.

Finally, Lockerz is inconsistent. The price of items in the PTZ redemption shop is constantly changing, items in the PTZ redemption shop are coming and going, and they are constantly adding and taking away methods to earn PTZ.

Personally, if you're into the whole 'earning points and redeeming them for items' then I would recommend Swagbucks. A lot of people would disagree, but if you reviewed the points of Lockerz and Swagbucks, you should realize that SwagBucks is not only more secure, but more reliable.

Lockerz is like a time bomb that you only get to try to defuse 12 times before it explodes. It's incredibly easy to miss the PTZ redemption because all the items are usually gone in a few short minutes, and you only have 12 tries before all your PTZ are gone forever... :)

The only reason Lockerz is in "Meh..." and not in "DANGER!" is because Lockerz has worked really well for a few people. Although the legitimacy is questionable, every now and then you will find a loyal Lockerz member that has redeemed something really good. In addition, the people who run Lockerz are renowned to be pretty Legitimate people.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you've heard the facts... Now it's up to you... To make the judgement :)

SurveySavvy

SurveySavvy is a great website for Surveys, as you simply sign up with your information, and supply your email. Then, just check your email every now and then, and you may get a survey invitation!

Here is the best part. Each survey yields an average of $2-10, and there is a very little minimum payout through paypal (I believe it is only $1), so you can get paid immediately for every survey you finish! No more waiting for months and months to get paid!

The emailing invitations part is actually very good, so you don't spend 15 minutes on a survey only to find out you've been rejected. It's awesome!

The only incident I've ever had with Surveysavvy was when I got invited to complete a $10 survey and after the survey it said there was "an error" and I should contact support. I was pretty frustrated at the time, but support got back to me in a little less than 2 days and they told me the status of the survey was complete... :)

After that, I was invited to another $5 survey and this one took me near an hour. When the survey said it was 98% complete (it was probably the last question) it said I didn't qualify. I don't understand why they couldn't have told me this to begin with o.o

Shouldn't they have the qualifications questions in the beginning?!

I don't know, but so far Surveysavvy has been giving me a lot of problems, when I've completed 10+ surveys on Surveyhead without a problem. I think Surveysavvy is a "Meh..." because of it's consistent failure to operate properly. Feel free to disagree.

Cons:
-Can take a few weeks in between survey invitations

-I believe the minimum payout to request a check is $3.00, slightly more than the paypal minimum.

-Many errors with the surveys, hard to find one that goes smoothly

Tips of the trade:
- Don't be discouraged by the long wait times! Combine this website with some other online money making sites to boost the profit! Think of this site as a supporting website, not your main money making website.

- They will ask for your personal information, so if you are paranoid about identity theft, read the privacy policy. They will not disclose the information to third parties, and they will not send stuff to your house, or anything of the sort.

-Surveys may take a while. Don't start a survey if you know you have a short amount of time before you must get off the computer; The average survey will take ~20 minutes, but the longer, higher paying ones can take up to 120 minutes.

- The tips for Surveyhead apply to this as well. Be honest and consistent with your information, and don't rush through surveys or supply random answers.
